Dale Shipe
Associate Conductor Dale Shipe
joined the Symphonic Band shortly after coming to
Fond du Lac
to be the band director at Theisen Junior High in 1989. A native of
Chicago
, he earned his BS and MS in Music Education at the
University
of
Illinois
, and he has studied conducting with Harry Begian and
John
Paynter. With past experience at elementary through college level, Shipe
currently directs Concert Band I, Jazz Band I, and teaches music courses at
Fond du Lac
High School. He holds memberships in MENC, WMEA, WSMA, Phi Delta Kappa
Education Fraternity, and the Wisconsin Bandmasters Association.
Dale and his wife, Nancee, have three children, all of whom have played
in the band at some time: Val on bassoon and electric bass, Lizzie on oboe, and
currently son Kurt is in our trumpet section.
